Personalize Your Groom

Shedding

Our De-Shed Treatment helps reduce shedding by removing loose undercoat before it ends up on your floors and furniture. With a deep-clean bath, blow-out, and thorough brush-out, we lift and release fur that's ready to shed—especially during seasonal coat changes. The result is a cleaner coat, a more comfortable dog, and noticeably less shedding between visits.

Recommended interval: 8-12 weeks.

Nails & Paw Pads

Nail Grind / Buffing: Our groomer's #1 recommended upgrade.Shortens, smooths, and rounds off nails to give a better finish that is not only shorter, but also less prone to cracking & scratching versus a standard nail trim.

Nourishing Paw Balm Treatment: Moisturizes and protects paws from splitting, chafing, and irritation. Excellent for weather extremes in winter and summer.

Skin & Coat

Mineral Mud Bath: Enrich and restore your dog's skin and coat with a mud bath containing Dead Sea minerals, aloe, and a fragrant mint scent. Leaves their coat velvety soft and refreshingly clean scented!

Blueberry Facial: Address tear stains and give your dog's face special attention with a blueberry facial scrub. Walk away with a perfectly kissable blueberry scented face!

Dental Health

Dog Tooth Brushing: Upgrade your groom or enhance your nail trim appointment with dog tooth brushing for healthier teeth and improved breath.

Salon Packages

Seasonal Salon Package: Includes enhanced luxe shampoo and seasonally scented spritz, nail grinding & buffing, tooth brushing, additional brushing and blowout.

Blueberry Facial Package: Give your dog's face special attention with a blueberry facial scrub. Great at addressing tear stains and leaving your pup's mug perfectly kissable. The Blueberry Facial Package also includes our two most popular additions: nail grinding and tooth brushing.

Fleas, Ticks, Skunk

Skunked, flea bitten, or tick infested pet? Let our trained professionals deal with pesky parasites and pungent odors.

*In addition to a flea bath by a professional groomer, it is recommended you treat your house, your vehicle, and other pets in the household for fleas. A flea preventative should also be applied to your pet immediately following the flea bath.

What to Expect

First Visit

The first time you come to Chaar for grooming just come to the front counter with your pet and let us know you're here for a grooming appointment. Your pet stylist will meet with you to review your preferences and look over your pet. It is recommended that you either book online or call ahead to reserve an appointment time as our groomers are often busy with other clients. Rabies vaccine documents are required for all pets 6 months old and older.

During the Groom

During the groom pets are handled with professionalism and safety in mind. Our first priority is always the health and safety of your pet. We want you to be thrilled with the grooming experience and love the haircut as well, but if health, safety, or skin and coat issues are detected, our groomers will use their best professional judgement to address the situation.

Safety & Comfort

We want all pets and all people involved in the grooming process to be safe and comfortable. Please disclose any known behavioral, medical, or physical issues your pet may have when booking the appointment and to your groomer at drop off. We will do our best to accommodate them, but in rare occasions we may not be able to complete a groom if we feel it is unsafe for either your pet or our staff.

Frequently Asked Questions

We reccomend brining your dog or cat for professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. If you want to maintain a longer or fluffier coat on your pet, you should come in for more frequent visits, usually every 4-6 weeks. More frequent grooming helps prevent matting and tangles that could require a shorter cut. Short haired breeds such as Boxers or Labs can have baths less frequently, but should have nail trims and brush outs on a 4-8 week basis for the best results.
For small bath & dry only it can be as little as 35-45 minutes and some large breeds can take up to 4-5 hours. But as a general rule of thumb, full grooms with a haircut take about 2 hours for small to medium dogs and about 3 hours for larger ones.
We highly recommend booking an appointment. Although we can sometimes accommodate walk-ins, if our groomers are fully booked or a groomer is not in the salon when you walk in, we may not be able to accommodate you.
Proof of rabies vaccination is required for pets 6 months old and older. Proof must include documentation that shows the vaccine information including the pet's name, type of pet, breed, and due date for next vaccine. Rabies vaccine collar tags are not accepted as proof.
Cancellations and reschedules can be made by calling the salon up until close of business the day before your appointment. Last minute (e.g. same day) cancellations may incur a no-show fee. Cancellation due to unsafe weather conditions will not be charged a fee. At this time, we do not have a way to process cancellation requests via text or email.
Yes, you can request a specific groomer when booking your appointment.
Costs vary by breed, size, and other factors such as coat condition, health, and temperament (which can all lead to additional challenges in completing a groom). Our advertised pricing is meant to give an approximation of the cost based on "standard" grooming of most pets.
Yes! Shedding breeds will never stop shedding, but regular grooming will greatly diminish the amount of shed fur you find in your house, on your furniture, and in your car. For the longest lasting shed reduction, we recommend a de-shed treatment which includes extra steps to further reduce shedding.
Yes, having a visual aid to go off of greatly aids us in recreating your vision for your dog or cat's look.
Yes, we offer external anal gland expression as an add-on service to most grooms. Just ask your groomer for more details when you come in for your appointment.
Yes, absolutely, provided you come in for regular grooming at approximately 6-week intervals. Coming in regularly allows us to stay on top of maintenance on your dog's coat and avoid close-to-skin matting which can force a shave down.
If your dog was completely shaved down, we recommend booking your next appointment for about 8 weeks out. From there, your groomer can help set a plan in motion for regular maintenance. As your dog's coat gets longer the time between visits will have to become shorter. In some cases, dogs with the longest & fluffiest coats may need trips to the groomer for brushing every 2 weeks.
Matted coats are not only painful, but also a health hazard for your dog's skin. Matting traps dirt and moisture against the skin which can lead to irritation and infection. Oftentimes the hair near the surface may appear fluffy and untangled, but the hair against the skin will be tightly matted. Our groomers are trained to spot this and unfortunately will generally need to shave the mats out. Shaving out mats is the safest and least painful method of dealing with them, but even so, can cause some discomfort and irritation.
Yes, we groom countless nervous / anxious dogs. Talk to your groomer about a specific plan for your dog to get the best experience possible.
Yes, we groom puppies! We recommend starting them as young as 12 weeks old for full grooms. Usually with puppies we will go slowly and focus on building a positive association with the grooming environment.
We do utilize kennels in the salon. Although there is sometimes a negative connotation with kenneling, it actually aids greatly in safety. With various tools, equipment, and other pets in the salon, your dog or cat is much less likely to get into a dangerous situation in a kennel than they are if left loose in the salon. Also, sometimes pets need a break from the groom to lay down or just chill out for a minute. A kennel is the safest place for them to take a quick break from the rigors of grooming. This is especially true for nervous dogs and seniors. We try to limit the amount of time your pet will be in the kennel and you can help us by promptly picking your pet up after their groom is completed.
Every breed and style has different needs. We recommend you consult with your groomer for advice specific to your pet and your grooming goals.
